Bombolieri is the darkest and most saturated of the three Frappato wines. Aromas of raspberries, black cherries, blackberry leaves, and redcurrants outline the unbridled fruit with warm, dark flavours reminiscent of black tea floating underneath. A little orange zest and wet blackboard chalk turn the wheel into a circle. The expression is open and accessible, like that of the other wines, but in this wine there is an additional layer of earth or loam to the red and black fruits that are perceived on the nose. All this fruit is seasoned with a fresh acidity that plays an important role and makes this wine an ideal partner for creamy fettuccine. Only 2,400 bottles were produced.
