New Bottle Shop & Caffè Now Open

Since 1939, the Royal Cinema has been the heart of Little Italy, first for films, and now for live shows and gatherings. Over the decades, it became closely connected to the neighbourhood’s Italian community and its tradition of Italian cinema along College Street.
In 2021, we opened Bottega Volo, a bottle shop inside the Royal’s lobby. Today, after a year of planning and renovations, we’re excited to share that it continues next door in its own space at 606 College Street, formerly home to Royal Jewellers. The new room carries an old-world charm, finished with cherry wood veneer, bianco Carrara marble, and natural stone chequered tile floors. The bottle shop remains focused on bringing the neighbourhood what we love: local and imported beer, natural wines, amaros, vermouths, fish tins, and pantry staples.
Inside the theatre’s lobby, Bottega Caffè now fills the space. The terrazzo floors remain, complemented by new indoor seating for morning Ruffino Espresso, Forno Cultura and Monte Bakery pastries, and baked goods, followed by sandwiches and aperitivi in the afternoon. Across both spaces, we’ve worked carefully to honour the building’s art deco character and its place within the neighbourhood. During evening shows, Bottega Volo will continue to operate The Royal's food and drink concessions.
