Punt E Mes
Created by Carpano in 1870, Punt E Mes rose in popularity at a time where vermouth was ordered at bars by specifying bitter or sweet, and particular herbs and spices. Meaning "point and a half" in the Piedmontese dialect, the recipe was named for an order requesting a point and a half, typical lingo of stockbrokers who frequented the Carpano bar, meaning one point vermouth and a half point of a bitter.
Punt E Mes is made with select white wine infused with over 40 herbs & spices. Rich aromas of spiced cake, black cherry, and balsamic reduction. The palate is bittersweet with prominent notes of bitter orange, vanilla, and cola spice leading to a long and juicy finish.
