Oslavje is a benchmark orange wine from Radikon, a revolutionary producer who helped pioneer the revival of skin-contact white wines in Italy's Friuli region. This blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Sauvignon Blanc (40%) undergoes three months of skin maceration and 3-4 years of aging in large Slavonian oak vats. The grapes come from low-yield, organic vineyards and are transformed through natural fermentation without added sulfur or filtration.
The result is a complex amber wine showing dried apricots, orange peel, honey, and wildflowers on the nose, with a structured, full-bodied palate offering candied citrus and distinct minerality. Radikon's dedication to ancient winemaking techniques, minimal intervention philosophy, and extended aging has influenced natural winemakers worldwide and helped establish Friuli as a premier region for orange wines.
