Lamoresca

Lamoresca is Filippo and Nancy Rizzo's family farm in Sicily's rugged interior, five hectares of old vines at 430 metres with Mount Etna as the only landmark on the horizon. The vineyards sit on clay, sandstone, and silex, farmed organically from the start. Biodiversity is central to how Filippo works the land — in recent years he has been replanting forests of carob, eucalyptus, and ginesta alongside the vines. His belief is simple: great wine begins in the vineyard. The approach in the cellar follows naturally — unfussy, restrained, resulting in wines that are pure, rustic, and a genuine expression of Sicily.
