A beer steeped in both tradition and process. A huge part of both Zoiglbier and the original Zoigl breweries was community. You see, in the original five Zoigl towns, the breweries were communal, and were referred to as ‘Kommunbrauhaus’. When it was time, the Zoigl Star would be displayed, signalling to the community that beer was ready to be enjoyed. For these two beers, and on two separate brew days, we turned each of our breweries into a Kommunbrauhaus. And now it’s time to hang the Zoigl, signalling to our community (you!) that beer is ready to drink.
So, we present to you Kesselgeld (‘Kettle Money’), our Zoigl-Inspired Lager, brewed with our friends from Godspeed at THB. Using German heritage malt, Kesselgeld used a decoction mash, a cold fermentation, and was then matured for 9 weeks.
