Jean-Sébastien Matte and Hugo Grenon are well known in the world of wine and gastronomy in Quebec. They are associated with Vins Nomad, a wine import agency, and a restaurant in Montreal, specializing in fine regional cuisine. In 2019, the two friends came together with a goal of buying land in Oka and producing wine. While waiting for the vines to be ready, they took advantage of the apple trees on the ground to produce cider.
