Time Takes Time

"Time Takes Time (Blend 1)" is the first blend in a new series of barrel-aged beers we are calling "Time Takes Time".

We've been working on a vision for our barrel program to include blends of different base beers and barrel treatments to try and pull as much complexity from the oak as we can. This series of beers will showcase different blends of base beer, barrel types and conditioning time in the barrel.

Blend 1 is a 13% ABV blend of Heaven Hill barrel aged imperial stout and Buffalo Trace barrel aged English-style barleywine. Each of these beers spent 14 months in the barrel before being blended together. We chose a particularly impressive barrel of stout that displayed a lot of deep chocolate and vanilla notes as well as a barleywine barrel that had a big toffee and caramel base. "
