Leave it to Fabien Jouves to recuperate the oft-underrated grape Malbec into a juicy, fresh-faced crusher ready to drink now! The name is a play off the esteemed Burgundy appellation Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuit, a wink wink nudge nudge that this isn’t your whatever-sounding French red but rather, a slightly edgy, natty red with a mischievous twinkle in its eye. Farmed biodynamically and fermented and aged for six months in tank, this almost reads like a mixed berry salad in the glass, all mulberry, cherry and spiced plum.
